Tomorrow is Valentine's day. So, tonight, I will write about the best Valentine's day that has ever happened. I was studying in Madrid in 2022 and had started falling for J.Grumbles (because...duh) but was in the butterfly part where you have no idea if they like you but you kind of know they do and you definitely like them but you're trying to be chill. I hadn't tried INdian food in my whole 20 years and -thank God- she thought it was worth taking me to try some. LFG. So we went to the Agra Palace. I came after class and I walked by the Palace texting my friends on Whatsapp because I was scared she wouldn't think it was a date.
Me:Maybe I should just go home
Margaret:Why would you do that
Me: I am going to go home
Margaret: do NOT
Me: ok I will go on the date
So I walked back to the Agra Palace SO NERVOUS. SO MANY BUTTERFLIES. Because the thought of the friend zone on Valentine's day= kill me with a hatchet. So I went. With my red backpack. And my school outfit. And I got there and she looked... dazzling. SO BEAUTIFUL. and I was SO nervous and then it was the most fun dinner ever. We tried lots of little things and she ordered all of it and then we went to many bars. And la plaza de la luna. Carved our initials in the playground. Our friends were also out but we didn't end up meeting up with any of them. It was a trance.

On the cab ride home we held hands and kissed and laughed and said that we both really liked Valentine's day.

Part of me right now and tomorrow, too, and probably the next day is THAT part. Like when you hear a song for the first time. It's not always sad, to remember.
